Description
The Alfonso Gran Sel Enormes delivers a richer, more structured expression of the Alfonso house style, trading some of the Extra Añejo’s delicacy for depth, spice, and a fuller Habano character.
Crafted by Selected Tobacco at Tabacos de Costa Rica in Puriscal, Costa Rica, this cigar uses Selected Tobacco’s extended post-roll cedar aging. The blend pairs an Ecuadorian Habano (as listed on United Cigar Group) wrapper over a Ecuadorian binder with Dominican and Nicaraguan tobaccos. From the first draw, it opens with cedar, roasted nuts, and cocoa before gradually unfolding into baking spice, leather, earth, and a touch of honey.
The 6 1/2 × 60 vitola (a comfortably paced session) shapes the experience: The broad ring gauge opens the blend up, giving the smoke a fuller, creamier body while keeping the aromatic profile smooth and composed.
Enthusiasts often describe this line as a connoisseur’s Habano—polished and aromatic rather than aggressive, with the wrapper doing much of the talking. The result is a cigar that feels extremely refined, with impeccable combustion and a slow, elegant evolution.
This is a cigar built entirely around finesse, aging, and aromatic purity rather than strength or complexity spikes.
Perfect for after-dinner smoking, aged spirits, or evenings when a fuller, slower cigar is called for.
